The Akeley Wood School website has been developed to Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) level AA standards, with the aim of making it accessible to the widest range of users possible.
- The text is resizeable by following these instructions:
- Internet Explorer (PC), go to "View" on the top menu bar of the browser, scroll down and select "Text Size", then select the required text size.
- For Netscape (PC and Mac), Mozilla (PC) and IE (Mac), go to "View" in the top bar of the browser, then select "Text Zoom", and choose the required text size.
- For Safari (Mac), go to "View" in the top bar of the browser, then choose "Make text bigger" or "Make text smaller" in the dropdown.
- Hyperlinked text has been written to clearly describe the target links, and therefore should be understandable even when removed from context.
- A site map has been provided, and lists and links all the pages on the website.
- 'Skip to main content' links, which enable screen-reading software to bypass repetitive navigation links, have been implemented.
- The site makes use of PDF documents for informative material. To convert these to an accessible format, visit the Adobe Access website , or the Adobe Simple PDF Conversion facilit .
- Links to PDFs and external websites all open in a new browser window.
