Akeley Wood Nursery at the Heart of it

On Wednesday the 1^st February 2012 the children in the nursery had a very special story ‘The Boy Who Lost His Laugh’ read by Matt Jarvis and the Heart Angels from Heart Fm. 

‘The Boy who lost his laugh’ has been created as part of the MK Council Early Years Team’s ECAT (Every Child A Talker) initiative to help extend the vocabulary of young children in Milton Keynes.  It’s a magical interactive audio story centered in and around Milton Keynes and designed for parents and nurseries to share and interact with their children. This story follows on from last year’s highly successful story ‘The Boy at Willen Lake’. 

The children thoroughly enjoyed listening and helping Matt with the various sound effects from snoring, dinging, buzzing to whooshing. The story finished with an interactive session with Matt, the Heart Angels and a group of children recreating the moment when the boy found his laugh with the help of the heart parachute. 

Matt Jarvis commented on the lovely setting of the Nursery and how lucky we are to have such wonderful children. 'It was so lovely to be invited to Akeley School, the children really loved the book and all joined in with all the actions and got involved -  a  real pleasure'
