Posted on 11 December 2009
Christmas Fayre Akeley Wood Junior School Saturday 28th November On the evening of Friday 27 an army of helpers, including parents, staff, sixth formers and pupils helped transform the Junior School for Christmas. Decorations were flying everywhere, as was furniture and in double-quick time the scene was set for the event. We were treated with the musical delight of the Infant and Junior Choirs as well as excellent music from the String Group and the School Orchestra. We also had many fantastic traders who came to sell and many a marvellous Christmas present, I am sure, was purchased. This year we had many more activities for the children to get involved with. These included circus activities, pottery painting, lucky-dip involving a lot of mess, bouncy castle, hook a duck, teddy tombola, children’s tombola, nail-painting and tattoos, plus guess the number of balloons in Mrs Page’s car! Young Enterprise from the Sixth Form were also represented with three stalls, and were a very welcome addition.
