Daily Mail Cup

On Wednesday the 1^st XV played the Desborough School, Maidenhead in the 3^rd round of the Daily Mail Cup, it was a very tight match and extremely physical with a larger Desborough pack putting pressure on the Akeley forwards who fought fantastically at every breakdown and tackle. The difference came with two excellent individual tries from Alex Awenat in the first half and as the score stood at 16-15 to Desborough with two minutes to go, Jack Deal made a solo run from the half way line to score and convert and take Akeley for the first time ever into the Daily Mail 4^th round. A superb achievement and thoroughly deserved, the 5^th round is well within their grasp! Next round Wednesday 11^th Nov AT AKELEY!
