Overseas Students

Each year, a small number of overseas pupils join our Sixth Form to benefit from an Akeley Wood education.

All overseas students live with host families. At present, we work with Gateway Guardianship Services, who provide a network of suitable home environments and act as a guardian during a student's stay in the UK.

We offer a comprehensive programme of specialist English tuition, as well as academic and pastoral support to encourage integration into life at Akeley Wood. Students can choose from a wide range of A Level subjects including Maths, Further Maths and the Sciences. Sixth Form entry usually requires an IELTS score of 5.5 or greater.
