End Of Term- Year 5- Junior School

Our production of ‘Roald Dahl’s Jack and the Beanstalk’ was an outstanding success! The children worked hard to create props and costumes and learn their lines. Amazed by the growing beanstalk, the audience watched with mouths wide open! The singing was beautiful and we were so proud of how the children came together to create a fantastic production.

One of the highlights of the year has to be our trip to Culmington Manor. From high ropes to caving, the children were kept very busy. The meals were delicious and the children ate their weight in food. For many however, the best part was sleeping in bunk beds!

Whilst on a trip to the Three Bradwells, the children learnt about how places change over time and applied this to their own project about their local area.

We were kept busy with a full timetable of sporting activities; from Cricket and Rounders matches to the House Cross-Country Competition and Sports Day. It is always wonderful to see the children enjoying exercise.

Other highlights included:

  • Visit from John Bercow
  • The Merryn Allen Writing Competition
  • Meet the teacher

We have had a very busy and successful year. The children have worked hard to achieve their best; we have enjoyed seeing them grow and are proud of their accomplishments.

Well done, Year 5.We hope you have a wonderful summer.

Best wishes,

Mrs Melton, Miss Griffith and Mrs Harries
