End of Term News- Year 3
This term the Year 3 pupils have taken a big leap from being Infants to Juniors. They have become more independent, responsible and have matured in many ways. The children have found that there are many advantages of being a Junior. They not only get to play on the big field, represent the school in matches/skill afternoons, can be voted on to the School Council, become Librarians, select their own lunch with choices from the salad bar and have desks rather than drawers.
Year 3, children have been able to enjoy activities such as board games, quizzes, drawing, lego and also outdoor activities when the weather permits as their reward in Golden Time.
One of the highlights of the term was our trip to Sulgrave Manor. Everyone dressed up and had a wonderful day imagining life as a poor Tudor child. The pupils had opportunities to write with a quill, play Tudor games, role play in a Tudor kitchen and to compare the homes of rich and poor people. In Science we have learned all about Forces and Magnets and what objects are magnetic and which are not.
All of the children have produced fantastic projects and they have all enjoyed presenting them in front of one another gaining in confidence.
All pupils performed well in their class assemblies about the year 2016. The classes spoke and sang with confidence in our Christingle service which was a lovely way for us all to get into the Christmas spirit. All pupils have enjoyed creating calendars, Christmas trees and cards.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the Autumn Term and would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents for their support. The children have worked very hard this term and produced lots of excellent work. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable break and are ready to work just as hard in the New Year.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
