Ex pupil presents to the Senior School Art Department

Artist and ex-pupil Helen Sayer visited the Art Department at the Senior School on Thursday 16th June. She gave a presentation to the year 10 GCSE Art Group in which she talked about her Fine Art Degree course at Loughborough University, her year’s placement at a print-making studio in Finland and her subsequent exhibitions. Helen then gave a demonstration of the print-making techniques she has become involved with, such as etching on copper plate and a process called shinkolay, which we will definitely be trying out soon! She also showed her sketchbooks from the past six years, which gave a valuable insight into how the sketch book can be used as an art form in its own right. The morning was very informative and made that little bit special by Helen being one of our Art pupils from past years, and the close contact she has kept with us in that time.
