Spring Term in Year 3
An enjoyable Spring Term in Year 3
In Science we have been learning about both the interesting topics of Light and Shadow and Rocks which they found most interesting. Similarly in History the children loved learning about Greek Mythology, including all the gory bits! They worked hard to produce some super homework where they invented, drew and described their own mythical creatures. The children consolidated their learning with our fantastic trip to the Ashmolean Museum where they marveled at the huge marble statues which really helped to bring the this topic to life. Geography in the second half of the term was concerned with Food and Farming where the children showed fantastic knowledge about animals and how to look after them.
The children finished the term with their wonderful Arts Project about growth. Here they were able to show off their art, drama and singing skills. They wrote fantastic poems which they performed to parents with enthusiasm, even exciting raps were performed to an urban background. During the evening the parents were shown the excitement of Forest School, where marshmallows were being cooked around a campfire. In Design and Technology the children made wonderful 3D displays of towns and the countryside through the different seasons and these displays made up a valuable part of the exhibition.
The children have worked so hard to make this term a success and are now looking forward to going into their last term in Year 3.
May we wish you a Happy Easter and thank you for your continued support.
