Students celebrate GCSE achievements
GCSE results today, with 36.4% of total grades at 9 – 7
We are delighted to report students are celebrating excellent GCSE results today, with 36.4% of total grades at 9 – 7 (A*/A). An impressive 25% of students achieved a grade point average of 7 and above!
We are particularly delighted with our Science grades which were exceptional across the board. From our cohort of 85 students, 25 grade ‘9’s were achieved! For the triple award we celebrated grades of 9 – 7 at double the national average! 94% of Physics grades at A*/A (national average 43.8%), 87% of Chemistry at A*/A (national average 43.9) and 82% of Biology Grades at A*/A (national average 42.3%). Double Award was also impressive with 28% of overall grades at 9 – 7. Well done to Dr Haworth and his team!
It wasn’t only the scientists celebrating this morning though, the percentage of top grades was up again on last year and our Value Added score up by a quarter of a grade.
We are proudly a non-selective and are fully committed to helping students achieve the very best results possible, wherever his or her strengths may lie. Individual successes were numerous with many students achieving exceptional grades, averaging 8.0 and above. Last week we celebrated record A level results and we are thrilled that so many of our students will be continuing their Sixth Form studies with us. Any students wishing to join us for A levels or BTECs in September can contact our admissions team on 01280 828122 for information.
Simon Antwis, Principal, said, “It is a pleasure to celebrate with our staff and students who have worked so hard to achieve these results. My congratulations go to all of our GCSE students and I wish them every success as they take their next steps into Sixth Form and beyond.”
