Swimming Gala – Hosted by Stowe School

On Thursday the 10th of November, Stowe School hosted a swimming gala for the local schools. Akeley Wood proudly participated in this event and in the words of Mr Handby, “we came a glorious third.”

There were some outstanding performances, including Kenji McDade who swam on several occasions for the juniors, inters, and seniors unofficially winning the Seniors IM, up against 17 and 18 year old students. Also, Alana Swain swam a magnificent freestyle, winning her individual race by a fraction of a second.

All swimmers swam exceptionally well, and should be very proud. However, our squad is very small (hence Kenji having to swim almost every single race) and we would love to get some more swimmers involved, so please email Mr Tombs lewis.tombs@akeleywoodschool.co.uk  should you be interested in joining the team!

A special thank you to all the year 8s who helped us achieve this spectacular result.
