Junior School – Year 1

Summer Term News

Year 1 have had such a busy and fun Summer Term. We cannot believe that the year has come to an end. This term the children have enjoyed learning about plants and animals. They have planned and carried out their first Science Investigation to find out what plants need to grow and they have observed the changes in their sunflower seeds as they germinated. We cannot wait to find out which plant wins our competition! The children were captivated by our topic about endangered animals. When they visited Cotswold Wildlife Park the children impressed members of staff with their knowledge of endangered animals and animal conservation. We have hatched out our own butterflies following our fascination about life cycles. This term, Year 1 children have written stories, letters, created posters and fact files all centred around our Endangered Animals themes. A busy and exciting term with Sports Day and Transition Days too!
