Year 2 End of Term News

Year Two have had a really exciting term. The discovery of dragon eggs in Forest School has led this term’s English work, writing newspaper reports and writing non-chronological texts about dragons. Science and Topic have been closely linked with one another by continuing to look at significant individuals whilst carrying out similar experiments to what our famous people discovered. This topic has also been carried through to ICT where the children have been using their research skills on the computers.  Forest school continues to be a big hit with the children. All the teachers who come out to Forest School with the children are amazed at how complex their dens are constructed. Maths Mission has also been very popular, the children are learning to apply the skills they have learned from the week’s lessons and apply it in real life situations. We are looking forward to practising some quick fire mental arithmetic after the Easter holidays. Some of the Year 2 children have also been very lucky to have been picked for matches against other schools. The sports staff and Year 2 team are very proud of these individuals. We asked each child what they have enjoyed most this term, this is what they have said:

George- “My favourite thing this term has been playing matches for Year 3.”
