Year 9 Tectonic Hazards
In Geography this term Year 9 have been studying Tectonic Hazards, learning about plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes and associated hazards. One homework task was to produce a geographically accurate model of either a shield or composite cone, using any materials students liked. Once again students have risen to the occasion and produced a dazzling array of different models. They included incredible creations made from cake, clay, papier mache, chicken wire, wood, polystyrene, salt dough and even a virtual one built in Minecraft! Some of them even erupted, thanks to the wonders of baking soda, food colouring and vinegar.
