Our vision at Akeley Wood is to build the foundations for inspiring lives, and fittingly, that inspiration is seeded in the very fabric of our beautiful school. Nestled at the heart of the idyllic Northamptonshire/Buckinghamshire border our Junior School is located in an impressive historic building at Wicken, surrounded by our spacious and tranquil grounds.

Our Junior School offers excellent facilities for every area of the curriculum, and attending children also have access to Senior School buildings and equipment as and when required.

Our classrooms are comprehensively kitted out to the highest specifications for every subject, and equipped with age-appropriate tools helping children learn at the right pace for them. We have science and modern foreign language labs, specialist art and design and technology rooms, as well as food technology kitchens, two specialist music rooms and three practice rooms, and a drama studio.

Home to many a personal best and hard-won team victory, our outstanding sports facilities include a dedicated sports hall, astro-turf and pitches for a variety of sports including rugby, football and hockey.

And beyond the fields of sporting endeavour, sympathetically positioned in an enclosed woodland area on the school site and featuring a lodge, large pond and nature areas, our Forest School is emblematic of our innovative teaching methods. Along with a designated allotment where children enjoy gardening, there are acres of space for children to play, discover, and fire their imaginations.
