Akeley Wood Junior School are seeking to appoint a Part-Time, Term-Time only, Wrap-Around-Care Assistant based at our Wicken Park campus. You will be responsible for the delivery of safe, creative, appropriate activities and the general welfare of pupils in our After School Wrap-Around-Care. Candidates must have good communication skills and be a dedicated team player. This is a part-time position, working 3.30pm – 6.30pm Monday to Friday, during term time. Salary is dependent on age.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Pre-School Teacher from September 2024. This role is based at our Wicken Park campus in rural Northamptonshire, near Milton Keynes.

The successful candidates will be committed to supporting children to achieve the very best they can through an engaging and inspiring curriculum. They will be innovative and creative in their teaching and be a strong team player.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an ECT, although we will consider teachers within the first 3 years of their career. The successful candidate would be supported by the Nursery Manager, work alongside our Reception team and be mentored, if an ECT, by our Assistant Head - Academic.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Standards and Quality Assurance

  • To participate in meetings at the school which relate to the curriculum and organisation of the school and the pastoral care of pupils.
  • To supervise daily lunch sessions and other break duties as timetabled.
  • To plan, monitor and support the work of Teaching Assistants.
Teaching and Learning
  • To be responsible for the education, welfare and personal care of pupils, have regard to the aims and objectives of Akeley Wood School policies.
  • To share in the responsibility for the discipline and pastoral care of the pupils, including the safeguarding and promoting of children's welfare.
  • To support the Head Teacher, Senior Leadership Team, staff and other professionals in the preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans and school policies.
Assessing and Reporting
  • To assess, record, track and report on children's progress and attainment in line with school policy.
  • To be responsible for maintaining the children's individual profiles.
