Akeley Wood Junior School offers a private education to children aged up to 11 at our Wicken Park grounds in rural Northamptonshire, near Milton Keynes. It is a fantastic start to formal education, combining a caring community environment with high-quality classroom teachers and subject specialists, plus outdoor space that has to be seen to be believed.
Our bespoke assessment methods, developed by Junior School staff, mean that we monitor our pupil’s progress regularly and in a meaningful way. We use the findings to tailor the learning experience and curriculum to suit the needs of every child. As well as focusing on core educational subjects such as Maths, English and Science, our junior school pupils are introduced to subjects including Art, Music and Drama, giving them the opportunity to express themselves in new ways, growing in confidence as they do so.
To better understand our approach to teaching and learning at our Junior School, please visit during an open day or book a private tour and in the meantime, request a prospectus.
