As advocates of a fully-rounded education, our Key stage 4 students are encouraged to keep the range of subjects they choose at GCSE level as wide as possible, ensuring studies are balanced both in terms of knowledge acquisition and learning experiences.
We encourage our students to play to their strengths and to be themselves. Brilliantly. In doing so, our Year 11s consistently attain excellent results at GCSE level. Find an in-depth breakdown of our most recent GCSE results below.

Akeley Wood Students Celebrate GCSE Success
Students at Akeley Wood School are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of discovery, growth and achievement.
There were exceptional outcomes across the curriculum:

Among the individual successes, two students achieved three grade 9s, with many others celebrating combinations of 8s and 7s. Charlie joined Akeley in Year 7 and achieved a 9 and seven 8s and is excited to continue at AW6. Sophia has been at Akeley since Year 2 and described her journey as “filled with teacher support and community spirit.” Reese praised the “peaceful and supportive” school environment as he moves into a career in catering, while William and Reuben reflected on the opportunities, friendships and challenges that shaped their time at Akeley.
Each outcome tells a different story, but together they highlight the spirit of Akeley Wood — where aspiration and opportunity combine to help every student thrive.
