🏆 ISA Netball & Football Tournament at Akeley Wood ⚽🏐
What a fantastic day of sport at Akeley Wood Junior School, as we hosted the ISA U10 Football & Netball Tournament! Our teams played with passion, skill,and true Akeley spirit, demonstrating our core values and learner habits throughout. A special shout-out to our boys` football team for an incredible 4-0 win in one of their matches! 🎉👏
It was wonderful to see so many families out supporting their children—thank you for being part of the day! 💙 Huge thanks to Mr Lemon and Team PE for their organisation, as well as our Senior School students who returned to help as referees and umpires—full circle moments like these truly show the strength of our Akeley community.

From Nursery to Sixth Form, today has been a true celebration of books, characters, and storytelling at Akeley Wood!
📖 At AWJS, the day was packed with creative costumes, cross-year reading sessions and interactive activities, all designed to ignite a love for reading. Students also had the opportunity to engage in live Q&As with famous authors!
📚 At AWSS, teachers embraced the literary spirit with book-themed costumes and students made bookmarks, crafts and collected favourite book quotes for a display. One highlight? A whole-school “story in a day”, reading Roald Dahl’s Lamb to the Slaughter—a thriller originally suggested to Dahl by James Bond creator, Ian Fleming!

Many people across the UK recognise today as Pancake Day, and our Food Technology students got into the spirit by making their own delicious pancakes in class! From perfecting their flipping skills to experimenting with toppings, it was a hands-on (and tasty!) lesson in the kitchen.
A big well done to our students for their culinary creations—what a great way to celebrate this tradition!
