Healthy School Meals

Offering nutritionally balanced meals.

Mealtimes offer a well-earned break in the day; a social occasion when children and adults eat together, and a chance to refuel. We offer wholesome and nutritionally balanced meals with a wide choice of dishes, including two hot meals, a vegetarian option, a salad bar, jacket potatoes, homemade breads and a variety of puddings and fresh fruit daily.

The recipes are meticulously planned with controlled fat, salt and sugar content to ensure that children benefit from a healthy diet.

Catering

Akeley Wood works with Chartwells to supply delicious lunches to our pupils.

Chartwells prepare our school meals on site each day. With Catering Managers in place on all three of our school sites, Chartwells work tirelessly to ensure school meals are varied, tasty and cooked to perfection.

They are happy to meet with parents to discuss any special dietary requirements your child may have.

Awards

Soil Associations 'Food for Life Served Here' Award.

We are proud that Akeley Wood Schools have been awarded the Bronze Food For Life Award. In Partnership with The Soil Association, the Food For Life accreditation is awarded to organisations that meet national food and nutrition standards and are serving healthy and sustainable foods.

A word from our Head Chef

"We pride ourselves on being much more than just private school caterers. We go above and beyond to teach pupils across the country about great nutrition for a healthy mind and body, and to shape lifelong wellbeing behaviours inspired by exceptional educational experiences.

That’s why we prepare nutritious food packed full of the highest quality ingredients and pour care and innovation into each of the fresh, seasonal dishes that our culinary teams cook up. Our values-led approach to independent and private school catering is what helps us set pupils up for academic success and inspire healthy behaviours. We have been partnered with Akeley Wood for a number of years and this relationship allows us to build excellent connections with students and faculty, delivering support and a bespoke offering to the school in all areas."
