Akeley Wood School is a vibrant, co-educational day school for children aged 1 to 18, set across three beautiful campuses in Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

🌎 Ecuador Update: One Week In – and What a Week!
Seven of our Akeley students are now 9 days into their four-week expedition in Ecuador—and what an unforgettable experience it’s been already.
At Camp Donbiki, deep in the Amazon, they’ve been learning and living the real thing:
🍳 Cooking over open fires
🌿 Building and renovating school facilities with local materials
🌧️ Powering through the jungle heat, rain and mud with determination and laughter
They’ve spent their days working side-by-side with the community—digging pathways, transforming a school kitchen and dining hall, and learning practical skills in the most hands-on classroom imaginable.
By night, they’ve slept in hammocks beneath the rainforest canopy, listening to the sounds of the Amazon. They`ve made jewellery with local seeds, learned traditional stories, and embraced jungle life completely.
This is just part one of their journey—but already, we’re seeing courage, resilience and connection in action. 🌿

🏅 Senior School Sports Day at Akeley Wood
From sprint finishes to shot put, house relays to pole-vaults—Senior School Sports Day was a powerful display of determination, camaraderie and character.
Our students showed resilience in every event, aspiration in every performance, and true sportsmanship throughout the day. Whether pushing themselves to beat a personal best or cheering their peers from the side-lines, they brought energy and encouragement in equal measure on one of the hottest days of the year.
Events like these go beyond athletics—they’re where our school values come alive.
